Your Role at Batesville:

As a Maintenance Controls Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the maintenance manufacturing department by providing a lead support role in troubleshooting during equipment breakdown activities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assists the maintenance associates within the plant during breakdown activities.
  • Determine, develop, and execute technical projects (electronic and programming) to be complete, along with developing specifications required for completion.
  • Schedule technical projects to avoid production interruptions and assign tasks for completion of projects.
  • Review technical drawings and other reference materials to select and recommend new supplies and maintenance methods to improve plant operations.
  • Confer and assist contractors to resolve problems with the installation of new equipment.
  • Review inspection and repair reports and observe progress of work on unplanned downtime and planned major overhauls to evaluate efficiency and work quality.
  • Resource planning including project/work order materials availability, PPE, and work permits.
  • Policy deployment, root cause, countermeasure analysis.
  • Interaction and coordination with quality, production, and engineering to plan preventive maintenance programs/work orders and to schedule inspections and major overhauls.
  • Troubleshoots systemic issues within the plant and effects maintainable countermeasures.
  • Leads associate training for their respective shift. Assists the group leader in assessing skill level of the associates, and coordinates with the group leader training regimens based upon those observations.
  • Recommends and makes improvements to maintenance systems, processes, and work, flow. Seeks associate involvement for problem solving and needed shop improvement ideas. Actively engages the entire workforce in the problem, solving process.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or equivalent certification.
  • Three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s): (Allen Bradley Preferred) Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and modify/create programs.
  • Pneumatic/Hydraulic: Ability to read schematics, understand fluid power concepts.
  • Electrical Maintenance: ability to read schematics, understand/troubleshoot motor control circuits, from low voltage to 480V, 3-phase.
  • Safety: Work in a safe manner and be aware of potential hazards in the area and safeguarding those hazards.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in Robotic Programming (Fanuc)
  • Experience with ABB Robotics
