Job Summary

A Maintenance Technician I oversees the day-to-day custodial duties of an assigned Community. The Maintenance Technician may support in maintaining both indoors and outdoors. Flexibility to adapt to unplanned events, while remaining resourceful and efficient is imperative. Works in coordination with the Property Management team to ensure the maintenance teams deliver safe, appropriate and sanitary housing to all our residents

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to caring and positive working and living environments for all employees and residents
  • Assist in enforcing safety regulations by identifying and reporting and/or correcting safety hazards.
  • Maintain common areas by vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, cleaning, waxing, replacing light bulbs, etc.
  • Maintain sidewalks, walkways, outdoor areas, and garage/parking areas clean and free of debris
  • Clean and resupply public and employee restrooms.
  • Notify supervisor of items that need repair or replacement, and as required by supervisor, may also assist with routine maintenance work such as repair and replacement May be called upon by supervisor to assist with routine maintenance work repair/replacement as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as window-washing (within reach, not to go up a ladder more than 10 feet) and carpet cleaning, etc, on a regular schedule.
  • Move common space furniture, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain clean and presentable custodial supply area
  • Actively track usage of custodial supplies and convey that information to your supervisor.
  • Regularly attends staff meetings and assigned trainings
  • Other duties as assigned.

Reporting + Organizational Relationships

This position will report directly to the Community Manager and does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation & Classification

CCH is committed to paying competitive wages. The salary range for this position is $21.96 - $26.05/hourly in California and $18.67 - $24.68/hourly outside of California. Based on CCH’s compensation philosophy, the majority of new hires are brought in at the minimum of the salary range. CCH has a competitive benefits package with health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 8% of an employer contribution for retirement, and more. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. This position is based at Flower Park Plaza, located at 901 West First Street, Santa Ana, CA 92703.

Physical Demands

Generally extensive physical exertion is required. Prolonged periods of walking, bending, climbing, manual manipulations and use of hand tools. Must be able to regularly lift, move and carry items over 50lbs. Physical demands also include continual sitting, typing, and repetitive computer use for up to 8 hours a day. The position also requires frequent communication with others, including hearing and speaking clearly with individuals and groups, in person and via phone and video calls. These demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the job’s essential functions. QualificationsQualifications and Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to serve with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and consistently meet project deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 is preferred
  • Ability to quickly learn the organization’s systems is required.
  • Background checks on all candidates who have received a conditional job offer. Satisfactory completion of background check is a requirement of employment with CCH.
  • While travel may be a part of the job, a driver's license is not required. Employees may use alternative transportation methods comparable in time and cost.
