Salary Range: $19.90 - $24.53 Hourly

Job Shift: 1st ShiftMaintenance V/VI – Plywood Division

POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance V role will be responsible for the overall operating performance of a variety of machines within the Assembly and Mill buildings. Ensure increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while helping to improve the efficiency of machines by minimizing down time. This position will have a primary focus in West Rutland Assembly with support to the Main Mill and other locations as necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conducts machine troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance
  • Provides emergency or unscheduled repairs of production equipment
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Performs mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair on production and packaging machines
  • Installation of new equipment as necessary
  • Reads and interprets work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Performs regular preventative maintenance on equipment, machines, and plant facilities
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules and Carris Reels safety program
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Excellent attitude, communication, and team work skills
  • All other duties as required

QualificationsEducation/Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical training in mechanical, industrial electrical, and hydraulics
  • 4+ years’ experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting
  • PLC desirable, but not required

  • Possess knowledge of manufacturing, production scheduling, and shop operations.
  • Effectively gather and analyze information to allow for timely/efficient decision making
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Possess computer skills and some proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud, and personal protective equipment is required (ear plugs, safety glasses at minimum)

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
