Job Location: Kobernick House - Sarasota, FL 34235Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician maintains the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with all repairs, refurbishing projects (including trim and cabinet carpentry, drywall repair, painting, plumbing, light electrical, demolition, clearing and stocking of materials for unit), and furniture/equipment moving.
- Maintain the facility grounds.
- Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and tasks as scheduled.
- Ensure maintenance supplies have been replenished in work areas as necessary.
- Ensure that the facility and its equipment are properly maintained for resident comfort and convenience.
- Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to your supervisor as soon as possible.
- Ensure that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift.
- Assist with safety inspections, tests, and drills, as requested.

QualificationsEducational/Professional

Qualifications:
- High School diploma/equivalent.
- Two years’ experience as a building trade helper, apprentice or equivalent preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Able to work independently as required, but with the ability to be part of a team and be detail oriented.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service, communication and time management skills.
- Able to respond to emergencies in a timely manner.
