Reporting To: Joshua Kephart

Compensation: $19.89 - $23.61 / hour

Schedule Full-Time | 40 hours/week | Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm | Weekend Rotation: One weekend every six weeks
Shift Premiums: 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm $1.00 | 10:31 pm - 7:00 am $0.75 | Weekend (Fri 10:31 pm - Sun 11:00 pm) $1.00

What You'll Do:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will help keep our senior living community safe, comfortable, and well-maintained for residents, families, and team members. In this role, you’ll perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot repair needs, and support the upkeep of community buildings, grounds, apartments, equipment, and systems.
This position includes a variety of hands-on maintenance work, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, mechanical repairs, HVAC support, apartment refreshes, preventive maintenance, and general building upkeep. You’ll respond to maintenance requests, complete repairs in a timely manner, and help ensure work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and community procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and general repairs throughout the community
  • Complete maintenance work related to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, plaster, mechanical systems, HVAC support, and general building upkeep
  • Respond to maintenance requests from residents and team members in a timely and professional manner
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and equipment issues to support safe daily operations
  • Assist with apartment refreshes, including patching, painting, and ensuring appliances, plumbing, and electrical systems are working properly
  • Maintain community buildings, grounds, equipment, and common areas to support a safe and welcoming environment
  • Follow maintenance schedules and coordinate work with other departments as needed
  • Conduct safety checks, report potential hazards, and follow all safety procedures and community policies
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, inspections, and completed tasks
  • Monitor tools, equipment, supplies, and replacement parts needed for maintenance work
  • Provide courteous, respectful service when working in resident apartments and shared community spaces
  • Report major maintenance concerns or repair needs to the supervisor

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Previous maintenance experience required; senior living, residential community, or similar facility experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and general repairs
  • Comfortable using maintenance tools, equipment, and materials safely and effectively
  • Ability to troubleshoot repair needs and complete tasks in a timely and professional manner
  • Strong communication and customer service skills when working with residents, families, and team members
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license required
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance or a related field preferred
