Job Description

Otterbein has an opening for a Maintenance Tech. The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Tech is to assist in all phases of Maintenance, Transportation & Groundskeeping tasks throughout the Otterbein Campus. This includes completing assigned jobs related to painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, moving, mechanical and other general repairs. This also includes assisting with scheduled transportation. This is a full time position, primarily Monday-Friday, with rotating emergency on-call.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a comfortable, safe and secure environment for the residents, their families, visitors and partners.
  • Performs a variety of general maintenance tasks, including general repairs, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.
  • Assists with moving of residents’ furnishings as needed.
  • Paints residents' living quarters as needed.
  • Assists with the on-going preventative maintenance program of cleaning, repairing and operating equipment, which minimizes abnormal equipment failure.
  • Assists with groundskeeping, weeding, mulching, and snow-removal.
  • Assists with maintaining documentation of fire safety evacuation plan, fire drills, disaster plan, smoking policy, fire alarm testing, fire extinguisher maintenance and testing reports, generator testing logs, water temperatures, flame spread ratings of interior finishes, and other maintenance records.
  • Assists with transportation tasks as needed.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Licensure/Certification Holds a valid Ohio driver’s license
  • Experience: General Maintenance - Electrical, Plumbing and Carpentry Experience, Mechanical Experience on H.V.A.C., Mowers and Vehicles.
