deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Task Analyst in Huntsville, AL.
The Maintenance Task Analyst responsibilities include the identification of the steps, spares and materials, tools, support equipment, personnel skill levels as well as any facility issues that must be considered for a given repair task.
Responsibilities Include:
- Analyzing technical and engineer data to create maintenance procedure narratives
- Identifying resources, tools, man-power, and time to complete required to perform that task
- Ensuring products are accurately composed using available technical and engineering data
- Conducting quality reviews of materials
- Attending technical and other review boards
- Interviewing product developers
- Observing performance of production methods
- Referencing technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, logistics, maintenance management, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in maintenance task analysis, performance-based logistics, or system sustainment for defense-related programs
- Familiarity with GWS or MDA-related systems, integration points, and sustainment challenges, such as radars, launch systems, mission equipment, communication nodes, and electrical systems
- Proficiency in conducting MTAs using tools like PowerLOG-J, SLICwave, or proprietary DoD systems
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications, including those for power and electrical systems
- Demonstrated proficiency with commercial computer systems and racks
- Experience developing procedures for electrical system installation and maintenance, including troubleshooting, grounding, bonding, and adherence to relevant codes and standards
- Experience working within defense-oriented standards such as:
- GEIA-STD-0007 (Logistics Product Data & Logistics Support Analysis Record/LSAR)
- MIL-STD-3007 (Facility Design Standards)
- NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace)
- Knowledge of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM), and sustainment principles for mission-critical systems
- Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance as required by position
Special Skills Desired:
- Experience with GWS or missile defense systems: Prior work on radar systems (e.g., AN/TPY-2, Sentinel), interceptors (e.g., THAAD, SM-series), launch/support infrastructure, or electrical distribution systems
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, logistics, maintenance management, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Knowledge of Missile Defense Agency (MDA) programs and sustainment priorities, including BMDS (Ballistic Missile Defense System) operations
- Exposure to missile system testing environments or operations, including range maintenance tasks
- Certification in Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) or related maintenance methodologies
- Experience in predictive maintenance leveraging IoT or Digital Twin technologies for improving system serviceability and health monitoring
- Working knowledge of predictive analytics tools and sustainment strategies leveraging failure data, Weibull distributions, or RAM modeling tools
- Technical writing expertise for maintenance documentation, including Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), S1000D, or MIL-STD-40051E
- Advanced proficiency in DoD logistics systems, life-cycle support processes, or maintenance optimization tools
- Experience with project management practices or certifications (e.g., PMP) to coordinate cross-functional teams
- Experience developing Conditional and Reliability-Based Maintenance Procedures
