Maintenance Supervisor/Coordinator

Department: Maintenance

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Clifty Creek

Reporting To: Production Superintendent-Maintenance or Outage Manager

Compensation: $10,222 - $11,090 / month

Supervise and schedule the work of employees, proprietary or contracted, in the performance of maintenance, inspection, installation and checking of plant equipment.

Expected to align personal goals with the Mission, Vision, and Values of OVEC-IKEC.

Key Responsibilities

Provide recommendations for the repair and/or replacement of critical components to reduce plant EFOR, improve availability and maintain environmental compliance.

Assist with the preparation of departmental records, work order and budget estimates, purchase requisitions, spare equipment, replacement parts, and maintaining an adequate supply of tools and equipment.

Assist with the measurement and analysis of Department productivity metrics.

Advise on or personally oversee the more complex or unusual maintenance work. Make recommendations concerning special tools, jigs, and rigging setups for handling machinery or equipment.

Collaborate, communicate and cultivate a team environment between all employees, departments, and strategic partners.

Oversee and inspect work performed by assigned group to assure it is in accordance with Company standards, approved drawings and specifications.

Provide feedback to the planning team on job packages for improvement of the planning process.

Report work-in-progress status, including estimated completion date, deficiencies, and roadblocks, to the scheduler and Department leadership.

Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the work of departmental employees in the inspection, maintenance and repair of all types of equipment.

Organize, lead, and coordinate the work of strategic partners in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of all types of equipment. Act as liaison between plant and strategic partners.

Administer prescribed Company personnel policies and practices; make recommendations
pertaining to changes in job duties of maintenance employees.

Know, understand, and ensure applicable third party contract language and requirements are met and followed by strategic partners.

Recommend and carry out appropriate measures of discipline of employees under direct supervision. Investigate causes of complaint and assist when necessary.

Oversee strategic partner employee management assuring alignment with Company standards and contractual obligations.

Accurately document and record job completion comments, employee pay and/or contractor time sheets on each job.

Perform duties in accordance with all applicable federal and state safety laws and regulations, and all applicable company safety rules and operating procedures; when supervising others, assure that safe work practices are followed and conduct safety meetings; make suggestions for the improvement of the safety program and encourage others to do so.

Keep informed of the latest practices and procedures with regard to the design and maintenance of generating station mechanical and electrical equipment and consistently apply these to ensure efficiency and economy in the operation of the department.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Appropriate leadership and technical experience satisfactory to Company needs.

Bachelor of science in engineering or related discipline with two years of plant related experience or;

Three years of experience in power plant operations or maintenance. Relevant supervisory and coordinator experience in a power plant or other similar industry will also be considered.
