Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading maintenance personnel in supporting production equipment, automation systems, utilities, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This position oversees preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities while driving continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and regulatory compliance. The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Safety teams to minimize downtime and maximize overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Essential Functions:

  • Lead, schedule, and support maintenance technicians in daily repair and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure production equipment is maintained and operating reliably to meet plant production goals.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and coordinate troubleshooting efforts to minimize downtime.
  • Provide technical support for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and automated manufacturing systems.
  • Manage preventive maintenance schedules and ensure completion of assigned work.
  • Review maintenance work orders, prioritize repairs, and track equipment issues.
  • Support installation, relocation, and startup of new equipment and manufacturing projects.
  • Assist with troubleshooting PLCs, sensors, drives, controls, and automated systems.
  • Oversee maintenance of building systems and plant utilities including HVAC, compressed air, electrical systems, lighting, plumbing, fire protection systems, and general building repairs.
  • Coordinate contractors and vendors performing facility repairs or improvement projects.
  • Support facility upgrades, capital projects, and plant expansion activities.
  • Ensure the plant remains clean, safe, and operational for employees and production needs.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and support to maintenance team members.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a strong safety culture.
  • Identify training opportunities and help develop maintenance skills within the team.
  • Assist with staffing, scheduling, and overtime planning as needed.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities follow company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Enforce proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safe work practices.
  • Participate in safety audits, problem-solving activities, and improvement initiatives.
  • Drive improvements that increase equipment reliability and reduce repeat failures.
  • Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standard of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles.
  • All other duties as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Previous maintenance leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience working with automated equipment, robotics, conveyors, and manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Automotive manufacturing experience.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience.
  • Robotics and automation experience.
  • Facility utility maintenance experience.
  • Experience managing contractors and capital projects.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement practices.

Salary Range: $78,108.00 - $93,732.00
