Job Description

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you are responsible for all maintenance and electrical issues within the hotel, daily maintenance checks, and repairing mechanical equipment to deliver an excellent guest experience.

Directs the operation of the Engineering Department.

• Develops plan for completing routine maintenance and renovations; coordinates work with hotel department managers.
• Creates a safe environment for guests and employees by ensuring that the hotel is maintained in accordance with safety standards.
• Evaluates forecasted business and projects and schedules staff accordingly.
• Ensures the hotel adheres to all regulatory and safety standards and takes corrective actions as needed.
• Keeps all mechanical, electrical and structural prints up to date.
• Perform daily checks around the hotel
• Ensures that staff is up to date on certifications and training necessary to maintain operating systems.

Maintains the hotel in accordance with the maintenance schedule by assigning and supervising maintenance staff.

• Schedules complete workweek coverage for engineering staff.
• Coordinates and priorities the distribution of repair-maintenance orders and planned-maintenance orders.
• Checks and monitors the completed work in order to ensure it is completed to Hilton standards.
• Makes up preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment throughout the hotel.
• Supervises and participates in maintenance work.
• Highly motivated self-starter.
• Monitors status regularly and adjusts strategies and programmes as appropriate.

Develops and implements strategies and practices, which support employee engagement.

• Provides employees with the orientation and training needed to understand expectations and perform job responsibilities.
• Communicates performance expectations and provides employees with ongoing feedback.

Provides employees with coaching and counselling as needed to achieve performance objectives and reach their fullest potential.

Supportive Functions:

Assume the responsibilities of other supervisors in their absence.

Education: EPI Science & Technology or equivalent required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Years of related experience: 3-5 years

Years of supervisory experience: 3 years

Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Additional language skills: Papiamento, Dutch and Spanish.
