The Maintenance Supervisor and Capital Plan Specialist is an integral part of our Environmental Health & Safety team based out of our Medolla, Italy site.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical diploma supported by substantial hands-on experience.
EXPERIENCE
3-5 years experience in maintenance roles (e.g., Maintenance Specialist or Maintenance Engineer), with an understanding of machinery, electrical systems, HVAC or building infrastructure.
Experience in scheduling interventions & prevent production/service disruptions.
Knowledge of safety regulations & accident prevention protocols.
Background with financial management of assets, with the ability to create financial models to estimate the return on investment for new machinery/facility upgrades.
Experience in determining when equipment should be repaired & when replacement is the most cost-effective option, helping reduce long-term capital costs.
Ability to conduct business case analyses, negotiate service contracts & manage tendering processes/relationships with external vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead & manage the maintenance operators.
Plan maintenance schedule to various planning horizons, ensuring that vendor lead maintenance is booked well in advance of due date & the appropriate EHS & PO is in place.
Work with Team Leader to plan appropriate timeslots access to equipment, facilities & utilities for maintenance, keeping maintenance down time minimum.
Work with QC Supervisor to plan appropriate timeslots access to QC Lab equipment, facilities & utilities for maintenance, keeping maintenance down time minimum.
Assign & prioritise workload for contingent workers to maintain equipment in validated state to support production schedule.
Ensure all maintenance activities are executed in compliance with EU GMP, EHS, & other regulatory standards.
Manage service contracts & vendor performance for critical systems & calibration services.
Responsible for ensuring maintenance related deviations, CAPA’s & change controls are completed on time & to standard.
Supporting day-to-day activities & projects, as well as coordinating work with appropriate internal departments, contractors, & external agencies.
Prepare & manage departmental budgets & KPIs for maintenance performance.
Lead root cause analysis & continuous improvement projects to optimise equipment reliability & uptime.
Manage training on SOP’s, work instructions & OJT to ensure compliance & no overdue training.
Support the introduction of new equipment or technology through FAT/SAT/commissioning & validation phases.
Perform duties in a compliant manner & accordance with site SOPs, EHS standards & guidelines, & relevant legal requirements.
Propose improvements to maintenance activities & implement actions through change proposals.
Collaborate with management to identify the projects that best align with company objectives, defining allocations & medium- to long-term forecast budgets.
Track cost performance in real time against initial estimates.
Evaluate the financial feasibility of new initiatives & oversee internal approval processes.
Prepare analytical reports & dashboards for leadership, highlighting budget-to-actual variances & recommending corrective actions.

Written & verbal communication skills; proficiency in English is preferred.
