Join our team as a Maintenance Supervisor, where you will play a critical role in maximizing equipment performance, ensuring production continuity, and leading maintenance excellence initiatives that support our mission.

In this role, you will work closely with Operations, Engineering, and external contractors while leading a small maintenance team. Your expertise will help improve asset reliability, optimize maintenance processes, and create a safe and efficient working environment.

The Role & Your Impact

As Maintenance Supervisor, you will combine hands-on technical expertise with maintenance leadership. You will be responsible for ensuring high equipment availability, improving preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and supporting the site's continuous improvement journey.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities, resources, contractors, materials, and equipment availability.
  • Supervise and develop a team of maintenance employees through coaching, training, and performance support.
  • Manage work order planning, prioritization, execution, and backlog control through CMMS systems.
  • Drive improvements to preventive maintenance programs and introduce predictive maintenance practices.
  • Optimize spare parts inventory and maintenance purchasing processes using CMMS and SAP.
  • Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing production equipment and facility systems.
  • Monitor and improve maintenance KPIs to support operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Lead plant shutdown coordination activities and support site reliability initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including Process Safety Management activities related to ammonia systems.
  • Partner with Engineering teams on equipment reliability improvements, change control activities, and capital improvement projects.

What You'll Need to Be Successful

  • High school diploma, Technical Trade School diploma, or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or technical certification in mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • 4-6 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience working with CMMS systems and SAP.
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning, work order management, and inventory control processes.
  • Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance resources.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business systems.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Experience applying root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.

Additional Skills & Interests We Value

  • Experience within food, fermentation, biotechnology, or bioscience manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems and Process Safety Management requirements.
  • Experience supporting CAPEX projects and engineering change processes.
  • Lean manufacturing or reliability-centered maintenance experience.
  • Technical apprenticeship training or advanced maintenance certifications.

Ways of Working / Working Conditions

  • This role is split between office and production environments, with approximately 50% of time spent in each setting.
  • Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hair nets, and respirators, is required.
  • Exposure to manufacturing conditions including noise, humidity, dust, moving equipment, fumes, and airborne particles.
  • Frequent standing, walking, speaking, and hearing throughout the workday.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Frequent use of hands and tools to inspect, operate, and maintain equipment.
  • Occasional use of ladders, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other maintenance equipment.

Compensation & Benefits

Expected salary range: $75k to $95k
