Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $46.18.

Summary of Position:

Supervise the Maintenance Technicians. Ensures that safety, quality of work, communications, team work, team development, and proper accountability are carried out effectively. Plans, schedules and coordinates maintenance activities that include preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, special projects, and service work. This includes the plant property, utilities, offices, and all production line equipment. Purchases necessary equipment for in-house repairs and sources contractors when necessary for non-routine tasks. Maintains the computerized maintenance management system for regulatory compliance, asset care and asset management. Monitors equipment performance for implementing corrective action plans and developing justification for future replacement projects. Supports the Hillsboro Plant Priorities / Goals. This position reports to the Plant Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

Safety:

  • Supports the compliance of the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements of the plant (i.e. CAPP, PSM, OSHA)
  • Supports the Voluntary Protection Plan (VPP) and Safety Committee safety efforts within the plant.
  • Understands the Management of Change (MOC) program and tracks changes on the change log. Participates / leads MOC’s when necessary.
  • Supports HS&E Specialist for contractor safety training and coordination.

Team Building and Communications:

  • Works to improve team building within the maintenance department and between the departments.
  • Develop and maintain a respectful workplace environment.
  • Responsible for managing team expectations and supports strong employee engagement.
  • Supports communication within the department so all team members understand the priorities.
  • Completes and discusses the Maintenance pass-down at the shift huddles.
  • Participates in the team meetings, plant reviews as necessary.
  • Communicates to the plant team as needed on important events and issues.

Supervision:

  • Meets regularly with the team members to ensure work is carried out effectively and efficiently.
  • Complete Individual Performance (IPP) Reviews with all direct reports.
  • Conducts periodic job level performance reviews with team members and helps assess job level of team member with the Plant Engineer and Human Resource Manager. Helps team members gain knowledge and experience to increase their skill level.
  • Holds the team accountable for safety performance, quality of work product, efficiency and the team member expectations (Performance Accountabilities).

Inventory:

  • Manage MRO storeroom
  • Ensures Inventory accuracy and inventory control, conducts cycle counts and evaluates opportunities for improving cycle count accuracy.

Purchasing:

  • Purchasing/Sourcing of maintenance materials. Maintains vendor management and vendor insurance requirements to JM requirements.
  • Identifies and secures all parts and material required to complete the work for projects and equipment repairs.
  • Appropriately codes all purchases and services to the correct accounts. Ensures compliance within the JM purchasing requirements.

Scheduling:

  • Schedules maintenance team members shifts to match the work order load and scheduling requirements.
  • Coordinates work hours that match budget requirements / absorption.
  • Coordinates with and in between contractors, engineering, operations to ensure schedule adherence and efficiency.

Computerized Maintenance Management (ERP):

  • Work order maintenance. Ensures work orders are well written, explicit in detail, frequency is appropriate, and the feedback loop is closed when work orders are closed out in the system.
  • Reviews and enters work orders into the computer system to automate the scheduling process.
  • Manages the reference documents for MRO equipment, plant equipment, facility, etc. so it can be used for research by the maintenance team.
  • Manage mechanical integrity program PM’s.
  • Reviews and updates bill of materials (BOM) for accuracy and completeness.
  • SAP trainer for maintenance team members.
  • SAP Master Data Coordinator. Ensures the accuracy and details of the master data are correct.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Uses the root cause and corrective action methodology, plan/do/correct methodology to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Identify new cost take out (CTO) projects and support existing projects.
  • Helps coordinate, prepares and justify capital investment opportunities that align the Plant with improved operating efficiencies and reduced costs.

Budgets:

  • Manages maintenance spend with budget, tracks spending by month, ensures spend is coded to the proper accounts.
  • Works with the finance team on asset management.

Other:

  • Shipping preparation for maintenance materials sent out for repairs.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time on concrete floor

Must be able to walk, stoop, kneel and climb ladders and staircases.

Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.

Must be able to operate mobile equipment and drive company vehicles.

Must be able to work in a confined space.

Must be able to crawl, kneel, and bend awkwardly to access difficult machine parts.

Must be able to work at elevated heights (on ladders, boom lifts, rooftop etc.).

Must be able to work outside in ambient conditions.

Must be able to work overtime as needed and have a flexible work schedule.

Required Qualifications

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or SAP System Experience

Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

Strong Interpersonal Skills

Solid Communication Skills (written/verbal)

Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment

Decision making skills that are data driven

Previous supervisory experience

Project management experience

Ability to review technical data to make decisions

Basic math plus algebra

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in industrial maintenance
