About Olympic Dam

Located approximately 550km north west of Adelaide, Olympic Dam is operated by BHP and is one of the world's most significant mining operations, producing copper, gold and uranium.

As one of the largest contractors on site, Redpath offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a large-scale underground environment while building a long-term career with an industry leader.

The Opportunity

Working 12 hour shifts on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster, you'll lead maintenance activities across underground and surface operations, ensuring safety, reliability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and support a team of maintenance technicians
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all work activities
  • Manage risk assessments, JSAs and compliance requirements
  • Coordinate preventative and planned maintenance programs
  • Ensure maintenance work is completed to established quality standards
  • Allocate personnel and resources to maximise productivity
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders and reports
  • Manage spare parts, tooling and maintenance inventory requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance operations

What You'll Bring

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

  • Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter/Mechanic trade qualifications
  • Previous experience supervising maintenance teams in underground mining
  • Strong knowledge of heavy mobile equipment maintenance
  • Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities
  • A proactive approach and ability to perform in a fast paced environment
  • Current manual driver's licence
