Terminal Maintenance Supervisor

World Fuel is seeking an experienced Terminal Maintenance Supervisor to help lead the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our Gibraltar Marine Terminal.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing terminal maintenance activities, contractor management, asset reliability, permit-to-work systems, and engineering projects. Working closely with the Terminal Manager and operational leadership team, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of critical fuel storage and distribution assets while ensuring the highest standards of safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do
Lead Maintenance & Reliability Activities
- Coordinate preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance activities across terminal facilities and equipment.
- Conduct mechanical and electrical inspections to ensure assets remain safe, compliant, and operational.
- Investigate equipment failures and breakdowns and implement effective corrective actions.
- Monitor asset performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
- Manage and maintain the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Manage Contractors & Safe Systems of Work
- Coordinate third-party contractors supporting maintenance and engineering activities.
- Ensure all contractor control procedures are followed, including inductions, permits, risk assessments, and RAMS.
- Administer and manage Permit-to-Work systems across operational sites.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Drive Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
- Prepare and review risk assessments and safe working procedures.
- Support compliance with all company, environmental, regulatory, and terminal operating requirements.
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure safe and compliant operations.
- Promote a proactive safety culture across the site.
- Participate in emergency response and incident management activities as required.
Investigate & Improve
- Report and investigate equipment failures, incidents, and near misses.
- Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across maintenance and operational processes.
Support Projects & Operational Excellence
- Develop technical specifications, maintenance scopes, cost estimates, and project documentation.
- Raise and track work orders to ensure maintenance activities are completed on time.
- Support terminal improvement projects and site development initiatives.
- Partner with terminal operations teams to ensure safe and efficient day-to-day operations.
Reporting & Budget Management
- Manage maintenance budgets within delegated authority.
- Track maintenance costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Compile and report maintenance KPIs and operational performance metrics.
- Maintain accurate documentation, certifications, permits, maintenance records, and compliance records.
What You'll Bring
Required Experience & Skills
- Experience developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Strong understanding of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Experience managing maintenance activities within an industrial, energy, terminal, logistics, or operational environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience working with maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Strong knowledge of contractor management and Permit-to-Work processes.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within a marine fuel terminal, oil terminal, refinery, tank storage facility, or similar heavy industrial environment.
- Experience conducting risk assessments.
- Supervisory, coaching, or mentoring experience.
- Working knowledge of Spanish.
- Experience supporting operational or engineering improvement projects.
