Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supporting production by ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance operations. This role provides guidance to maintenance technicians, oversees daily activities, and leads complex maintenance projects while troubleshooting equipment issues to minimize downtime. The position also manages preventative maintenance programs, maintenance reporting, inventory, and costs, while ensuring compliance with safety standards, GMPs, and operating procedures. Additionally, the supervisor collaborates with engineering on process improvements, supports equipment installation, and helps train and develop the maintenance team. The Maintenance Supervisor must be available to respond in the event of an emergency.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing guidance and leadership for the day to day functions of the maintenance technicians, with minimal supervision.
  • Responsible for leading complex projects.
  • Must be able to train and develop Maintenance Technicians.
  • Responsible for providing advanced technical training to maintenance technicians, as needed.
  • Must be available to be on-call and provide phone assistance.
  • Coordinate external resources, as needed.
  • Participate in safety improvements and actively participate in safety teams.
  • Responsible for reporting and tracking on maintenance functions.
  • Managing maintenance expenses and cost reduction.
  • Responsible for tracking maintenance inventory
  • Ensure compliance with Safety (Personal, Process and Food Safety), GMP, SOPs, and Code Standards (Electrical, Welding, etc.)
  • Provide input on SOPs and Preventive Maintenance programs.
  • Responsible for complex maintenance including: welding, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, etc.
  • Accomplish preventative maintenance (PM’s) and repairs within established timelines.
  • Provide input with Engineering team on various process improvement and the installation of equipment.
  • Responsible for troubleshoot breakdowns and correcting problems.
  • Fabricate components from blueprints.
  • Machinery assembly and disassembly.
  • Preventative Maintenance (PM’s) and repairs.
  • Ability to perform maintenance on Refrigeration (as applicable).

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:
    • High School Diploma with 10 years of related experience OR
    • Technical School with 7-10 years of related experience
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Time management and project management skills.
  • Complex Technical skills, including: machine repair, piping, machine rigging, HVAC, electrical troubleshooting, etc.
  • Ability to read, markup, and create blueprints.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals
  • Qualified with Lockout-Tagout, Confined Space, Hot-Work Procedures, and PPE (Personal ProtectiveEquipment).
