Job Description

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers both directly and through the lead men, engaged in maintaining and repairing plant mechanical and/or electrical equipment, physical structures of buildings and maintaining grounds, and/or mobile equipment by performing the following duties.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Assist in defining and enforcing departmental Safety and operational procedures.
  • Audit and/or oversee job task to insure compliance to company, department, and established industry standards.
  • Understand, use, and champion the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) per established procedures.
  • Plan and direct employees and contract workers engaged in maintaining and repairing plant mechanical and/or electrical equipment, physical structures of buildings and/or maintaining grounds, and/or mobile equipment.
  • Mentor employees, to include maintenance leads and technical craftsman in company and industry standards.
  • Help to define and implements preventive maintenance programs for assigned equipment.
  • Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Help defines annual budget requirements for responsible area and manages expenses against budget through each crop year.
  • Study production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Actively participate in equipment reliability efforts.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintain employee crew assignments and timecards using the ADP timekeeping system.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Performs supervisory activities for staff of maintenance craftspeople, including but not limited to administering wage information and allocations, completing annual performance appraisals, developing and coaching staff as necessary, making staffing decisions, and representing staff interests to department management. Must insure that a safety expectations are understood and followed at all levels throughout the department.

Qualifications

Here's what you'll bring to the table:

  • Typical supervisor will have five years of maintenance/plant management experience. High school diploma or equivalent required. B.S. in Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English. Conversational Spanish is highly desired but not required.
  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic and algebraic functions. Knowledge of statistics desired but not required.
