Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for delivering improvements to plant uptime and scheduled adherence through an effective program which drives predictive and prescriptive maintenance. This includes managing processes and procedures, coaching team members, and engaging with any outsource providers.

Key Accountabilities:

Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ)

  • Actively contribute to the site’s Kinrise Never Walk By practice, ensuring compliance with HSEQ standards and rules, ensuring injuries, incidents, hazards and illnesses are reported immediately to create a safe, healthy and sustainable workplace.
  • Ensure building, plant, utilities, and equipment are compliant to relevant standards, including reporting requirements.
  • Provide technical support as required on safety, quality, energy management, and environmental issues in the business.

Reliability

  • Support the transition to a preventive/predictive/prescriptive maintenance approach, ensuring allocated work is being completed and the data is being recorded.
  • Supervise tradesmen during installations, repairs or maintenance (electricians, plumbers etc.)
  • Work with the Manufacturing team and trades team to implement initiatives to improve trades utilisation and capability.
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance
  • Support implementation of capital projects as required.
  • Ordering of spare parts as required

Continuous improvement

  • Support engineering projects to ensure the delivery of solutions in line with business strategy Including design, installation, and commissioning of all capital projects.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives, innovation, tactics, and new projects to enhance sourcing tactics and maximise efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, customer responsiveness and compliance.
  • Manage the systemic root cause analysis and resolution to machine downtime (planned and unplanned).

Leadership

  • Proactively lead and set the tone for developing a high-performing, accountable, dynamic and values-based trades team focused on achieving business goals and realising the Kinrise purpose, vision and strategy.
  • Build-in quality (right first time) and problem-solving bias through training, accountability, change management and agile (PCDA) orientation.

Skills and attributes:

  • Strong operational, team management, change management, problem solving, and customer focused skills.
  • Well-honed stakeholder management, including partnering, influencing, facilitation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team; lives the company values and leads for purpose.
  • Leadership and management skills.

Experience:

  • 5+ years proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor leading trades teams.
  • Intimate knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, relevant regulations, health and safety requirements, auditing requirements and relevant legislation.
  • SAP experience highly desirable
  • FIIX experience highly desirable
  • Understanding of general finance and budgeting.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical
  • Additional training in Continuous Improvement Systems and Project Management is highly desirable (e.g. Lean, TPM, Six Sigma).
