Brief Description
The purpose of this position is to ensure the safe operation and extended life of the Brazos River Authority (BRA) De Cordova Dam at Lake Granbury. This is accomplished by overseeing the maintenance, upkeep, inspection, and repair of the dam, Tainter gates, low flow gates & supporting infrastructure; scheduling, prioritizing and supporting all work performed by the Reservoir System Maintenance Unit (RSMU) and dam operations. This position is also expected to recommend design changes and improvements to existing equipment, coordinate with the Project Delivery group to support on-going projects, report any observed abnormalities in the structural soundness or function of the dam and may include on call or out-of-hours response to support gate operations. Other duties include maintaining a safety-oriented workplace; conducting employee training on the construction project and plans all crane lifts; purchasing equipment, tools and materials for projects; maintaining records and reports; preparing the dam for the dam inspections; performing the required dam repairs and maintenance; coordinate dive operations; coordinate and communicate with engineers, consultants, and vendors; and any other duties as assigned.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $95,283 and $123,868 annual salary. This is an exempt position.

The Brazos River Authority was created by the Texas Legislature in 1929 as the first government entity in the United States created specifically for the purpose of developing and managing the water resources of an entire river basin.
