If you are looking for an opportunity to support the effective operation of JLR's maintenance function ensuring stocks, tools, materials, and critical spare parts are managed efficiently whilst also contributing to the maintenance of mechanical plant and equipment then this Maintenance Store Operative role could be for you.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting a safe, organised, and customer-focused environment while helping to deliver a modern luxury experience for customers and colleagues.

This would suit someone who has perhaps been a maintenance engineer and has an understanding of basic engineering principals to assist the engineering / maintenance teams with the correct procurement of parts/spares.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Support maintenance activities across the Solihull estate, including preventative and corrective work on mechanical plant and equipment.
  • Manage stock levels through auditing, inventory monitoring, reporting, and accurate record keeping using stock control systems.
  • Receive, check, and issue deliveries, tools, materials, and critical spare parts to support maintenance operations.
  • Maintain safe, organised, and efficient stores areas, including quick-access storage locations.
  • Assist with purchasing activities by identifying low stock levels and supporting the re-ordering process.
  • Follow all company procedures relating to health and safety, COSHH, and ergonomics.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues while demonstrating a customer-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • A Government approved Apprenticeship, Craftsman Certificate, Level 3 BTEC, NVQ, OCR Cambridge Nationals, OR, a National Diploma in an engineering related disciplaine discipline.
  • Mechanical plant knowledge.
  • Knowledge of health and safety - actively applies health and safety standards to their daily activities
  • Building Services knowledge.
  • Stores / parts knowledge.
