MAINTENANCE STOREROOM CLERK
The Maintenance Storeroom Clerk is an integral member of the maintenance team, dedicated to ensuring the "Right Parts are in the Right Quantity at the Right Time". This role is responsible for controlling inventory by reviewing usage data and recording information in the company-provided CMMS (MVP Plant/MVPONE). By taking full ownership of the system and following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), this position ensures data integrity, stock availability, and organized storage to support continuous manufacturing operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inventory Control & Catalog Management
- System Accuracy: Maintain 100% data integrity within the CMMS. Accurately track inventory, work orders, and part usage.
- Cycle Counting: Execute regular inventory cycle counting programs by ABC classification; investigate, correct, and report discrepancies.
- Material Flow: Perform daily tasks including receiving, labeling, putting parts away, and processing returns or transfers.
- Catalog Maintenance: Assist with setting up new items, updating Min/Max levels, and maintaining catalog accuracy.
- Technical Support: Use machine drawings and web search tools for part identification and cross-referencing for internal customers.
- Purchasing & Vendor Relations
- Procurement: Respond to all maintenance purchasing requests within one business day. Collect supplier quotes and coordinate orders for stock.
- Financial Accountability: Manage and reconcile monthly purchasing card (P-Card) spending according to company standards.
- Vendor Management: Research and negotiate with vendors to reduce maintenance spend while maintaining quality; resolve issues regarding lost or incorrect shipments.
- Special Programs: Execute and support the repairable spare program and kit building
- Operational Support & Planning
- Maintenance Planning: Anticipate the needs of planned maintenance by working closely with planners and schedulers.
- PM Development: Develop and implement PM programs for parts with specific shelf-life or maintenance needs (e.g., gaskets, belts, motor shafts) and manage a shelf-life scrap program.
- Audit & Improvement: Conduct annual audits of the parts room layout and design to identify improvement opportunities.
- Reporting: Provide routine reports to management, including inventory value, usage trends, and cycle count discrepancies
- Teamwork, Safety & Housekeeping
- Collaboration: Attend regular maintenance planning meetings and communicate effectively with team members regarding supplies and delivery dates.
- Training: Assist in training new associates on MVP procedures and storeroom standards.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly parts room and satellite storage areas with superb housekeeping standards.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of required PPE (safety shoes, glasses, and hearing protection).
- General
- Additional Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall success of the maintenance and operations departments
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance inventory, purchasing, or a similar warehouse role preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CMMS systems (MVPOne Preferred, SAP, Maximo, etc.) and Google Suite/Microsoft Excel.
- Technical Literacy: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret standard machine drawings.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to be approachable, tactful, and possess negotiation skills.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
- Physical Effort: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally; involves frequent bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Environment: Ability to work in high-bay areas, climb stairs, and work in warehouse conditions that may include dust, noise, and temperature fluctuations.
- Flexibility: Must be flexible to work overtime to meet business needs.
