Job Summary

The Maintenance Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, organization, issuance, and control of engineering spare parts, tools, equipment, supplies, and maintenance materials. The position ensures that the Maintenance Department keeps adequate stock levels and that materials are properly recorded, secured, and readily available to support the property’s maintenance and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify engineering materials, spare parts, tools, and supplies against purchase orders, invoices, and delivery documents.
• Properly label, organize, and store items in designated locations to ensure easy identification and accessibility.
• Issue materials, tools, and spare parts to authorized Engineering personnel based on approved requests.
• Maintain accurate records of all items received, issued, returned, and remaining in stock.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify the Maintenance Manager of items requiring replenishment.
• Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and inventory records.
• Maintain proper stock rotation and ensure that materials are stored safely and appropriately.
• Monitor the condition of stored items and report damaged, obsolete, or excess stock.
• Maintain an organized and secure engineering storeroom in accordance with hotel standards.
• Ensure tools and equipment returned to the store are accounted for and properly stored.
• Assist with the preparation of purchase requisitions for engineering supplies and spare parts.
• Maintain proper documentation for inventory transactions and support departmental audits.
• Work closely with the Maintenance Department, Purchasing, Accounts, and other relevant departments regarding inventory requirements.
• Assist in sourcing and identifying appropriate replacement parts and materials when required.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental standards.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper control of departmental records.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the management.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in a storeroom, inventory, engineering, maintenance, or purchasing environment is preferred.
• Experience within a hotel or hospitality environment would be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of engineering tools, spare parts, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or maintenance supplies is preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
• Good numerical and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to accurately maintain inventory records and documentation.
• Ability to lift, move, and organize materials safely as required.

Working Relationships

Internal: Purchasing, Maintenance, Accounts, Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage, and other operational departments.

External: Suppliers, contractors, and service providers as required.

Physical Requirements

The position requires regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and moving of tools, spare parts, and other engineering materials. The employee must be able to work safely in a storeroom and engineering environment.
