Job Description

The Fuel Specialist is responsible for improving fuel system reliability and up-time across a specified region. This role supports the Regional Facilities Manager through root cause analysis, trend identification, proactive maintenance strategies, and collaboration with vendors, fuel logistics, environmental and operations.

The Fuel Specialist serves as the subject matter expert for fuel equipment and drives continuous improvement initiatives that enhance asset performance and minimize business interruptions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support internal teams with maintenance repairs related to red tags, re-pipes, and other large scale fuel equipment projects
• Prioritize repairs related to fuel outages (RUL 50% down, DSL 100%)
• Review Slow Flow data and address as needed
• Work order management related to D/T/L
• Heavy focus on work orders aged over 10 days
• Overall goal to ensure work orders are meeting SLA requirements
• Assist Regional Facilities Manager with QBRs related to D/T/L vendors
• Responsible for field training related to dispensers and underground fueling equipment
• Ensure warranties are applied as applicable
• Manage fuel vendor relationships
• Monitor blend ratio discrepancies and fuel variances as needed
• Review work order history to identify recurring failure patterns and opportunities for process improvement
• Work with RFMs and Regional Fuels Specialist to improve D/T/L troubleshooting, SOPs and QRGs for Stores and internal teams
• Collaborate with Facilities and Construction on capital planning and possible R&R opportunities
• Complete new store walks through with ASOs / construction prior to turn over
• Ensure vendors are staying compliant on stock inventory
• Work with second sources to ensure critical parts are stocked adequately to mitigate equipment down times
