Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the processes in maintaining and preserving the efficiency of all equipment, production lines, and/or facilities, resulting in the optimization of technical and financial resources. Each day, you will oversee execution of ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of equipment, production lines, and/or facilities. You will also showcase your expertise by managing and updating technical documentation of equipment, production lines, and/or facilities.

The role will support for the ABB India Ltd for Electrification Smart Buildings Business to be based at Nelamangala, BANGALORE, India.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and ensure high equipment availability.
Diagnose equipment failures and perform root cause analysis (RCA) by troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and automation systems, and implementing effective corrective actions.
Manage maintenance resources and spare parts inventory by identifying critical spares, coordinating procurement, controlling maintenance costs, and ensuring uninterrupted maintenance operations.
Ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards by adhering to LOTO procedures, statutory requirements, company policies, and supporting TPM, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate maintenance activities and monitor performance by working closely with production, quality, and external vendors, supporting installation and commissioning of new equipment, tracking KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, OEE), and driving improvements in equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Qualifications for the role:
Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline; Mechatronics qualification is preferred.
Minimum 4+ years of experience in machine maintenance, preferably in Switchgear, Automobile, or Electronics manufacturing industries.
Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance with hands-on experience in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment.
Proven ability to analyze equipment failures, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce machine downtime.
Experience in monitoring maintenance performance and preparing maintenance reports and KPIs, including MTBF, MTTR, and OEE, with recommendations to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
Good understanding of safety standards, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, statutory compliance, and company maintenance policies.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and continuous improvement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across production, quality, and maintenance teams to enhance equipment performance.
