TxDOT's Austin District is looking for ONE Maintenance Section Assistant based out of our Maintenance Office in Lockhart This position assists a Maintenance Section Supervisor in overseeing work completed by the crews and contractors, which provides a safe driving thoroughfare within a designated geographical area. Leads the work of Transportation Maintenance Crew Chiefs, technical and clerical staff. Work requires responding to emergency notification on an as needed basis. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

Maintenance Section Assistant:
High School Grad or Equivalent in general education
6 YEARS of experience in roadway maintenance or construction related work (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent) Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Safety Impact Certificate
Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
Commercial Driver Certificate
