Overview of Role:

The Maintenance Repairer 2 position is a valuable part of the Crowley Housing Authority's organization; the main function of work is to repair and maintain housing units and buildings. Generally, duties include general maintenance tasks such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical repair, and cleaning of housing units

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN THE PUBLIC HOUSING DEPARTMENT AND PERFORMS GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORK. THE INDIVIDUAL SELECTED TO THIS POSITION WILL BE REQUIRED TO SERVE A PROBATIONARY PERIOD OF 12 MONTHS MINIMUM TO 24 MONTHS MAXIMUM.

Examples of duties

Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR

Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering; OR

Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Job Duties:

  • Makes general repairs to the building (interior and exterior) and other mechanical and related fields such as plumbing, carpentry, and electrical
  • Performs general maintenance tasks such as repairing leaking faucets, toilets, sheetrock repair (walls and ceilings), repairing flooring, doors, and locks, and replacing switches and receptacles.
  • Other maintenance duties as assigned

Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
