Summary of Job Duties:

This position performs general carpentry duties to include (but not limited to): Driving to and from construction sites or UAMS Main Campus. Construct walls, install suspended ceilings and sheetrock ceilings, install doorframes and doors, hanging drywall, and installing floor coverings. Determine materials needed for a project based on construction drawings or actual conditions of the space being renovated or remodeled. Complete documentation essential for the Engineering & Operations work order system and preventative maintenance program.

This position is responsible for renovating and remodeling the Medical, Educational, and Research facilities on the UAMS Campus. These duties are vital to the safety, comfort, and general well-being of patients, students, and employees. This position is also responsible for assisting with all problems and/or emergencies relating to facility issues on the UAMS Campus.

Qualifications:

• Education, general: HS Diploma/GED
• Experience, length in years and kind: 1 year of carpentry experience
• Licenses, certificates, or registration: Valid driver’s License with fewer than 12 points on their Motor Vehicle Record
• Special knowledge, abilities, and skills: Computer, tablet, and smartphone proficiency level: Novice; Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings
