Summary of Job Duties:

POSITION SUMMARY

This position performs tasks that pertain to the general maintenance and repair of the UAMS campus. Duties include (but are not limited to) driving to and from campus and worksites; ceiling tile replacement, furniture repair, installation of T.V. brackets, bulletin boards, file holders, & pictures, minor drywall repair, and painting; perform minor patchwork or coating/sealing of existing roofs; perform flooring repair and replacement. Other duties may include repair or replace flush valves, sinks, faucets, p-traps, water supplies, etc. Remove obstructions from clogged urinals, sinks, toilets, sewer lines, etc.; change belts, filters, air registers, etc.; reset breakers, change receptacle, light switches, cover plates, light bulbs, light fixtures, ballast, etc.; perform preventative maintenance inspections and procedures in accordance with preventative maintenance instructions and applicable codes. Complete documentation essential for the Engineering & Operations work order system and preventative maintenance program.

This position is responsible for the general maintenance and repair of the Medical, Educational, and Research facilities on the UAMS Campus. These duties are vital to the safety, comfort, and general well-being of patients, students, and employees. This position is also responsible for assisting with all problems and/or emergencies relating to facility issues on the UAMS Campus.

Qualifications:

  • Education, general: HS Diploma/GED
  • Experience, length in years and kind: 1 year of maintenance experience
  • Licenses, certificates, or registration: Valid driver’s License with fewer than 12 points on their Motor Vehicle Record
  • Special knowledge, abilities, and skills: Computer/tablet/smartphone program proficiency level: Novice
