Job Description

The Maintenance Reliability Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance and reliability activities for the facility. This position will oversee maintenance technicians, maintenance planning, spare parts management, predictive maintenance programs, equipment reliability improvement, and resolution of commissioning and startup-related equipment issues.

The Maintenance Reliability Manager will drive equipment uptime, reduce unplanned downtime, improve maintenance effectiveness, and establish a world-class reliability culture. The Maintenance & Reliability Manager will work closely with Operations, Engineering, OEMs, and contractors to ensure equipment performs safely, efficiently, and reliably throughout its lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, develop, and manage maintenance personnel, including supervisors, planners, and technicians.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability.
  • Develop technician capabilities through structured training programs, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Create a culture focused on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
  • Reliability & Equipment Performance
  • Own the overall site reliability strategy.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and corrective action implementation.
  • Drive improvements in mean time between failures (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR), overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and equipment availability.
  • Identify and eliminate chronic equipment failures and underperforming assets.
  • Develop and maintain equipment criticality assessments and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
  • Commissioning & Startup Support
  • Lead stabilization efforts for newly installed equipment.
  • Partner with OEMs, contractors, and Engineering teams to resolve startup issues and ensure equipment performs to design specifications.
  • Manage punch-list closure and warranty-related equipment issues.
  • Validate maintenance requirements for new assets.
  • Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
  • Develop and optimize preventive maintenance programs and implement predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Improve preventive maintenance effectiveness and compliance.
  • Establish lubrication, inspection, and condition-monitoring standards.
  • Support Autonomous Maintenance initiatives with Operations teams.
  • CMMS & Planning
  • Own computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) plant maintenance processes and ensure accurate work-order management.
  • Drive planning and scheduling effectiveness and improve maintenance backlog management.
  • Use maintenance data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Spare Parts & Asset Management
  • Develop a critical spare-parts strategy and optimize inventory levels while minimizing plant risk.
  • Support procurement and supplier management.
  • Establish equipment lifecycle cost monitoring.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and maintain lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined-space, and contractor safety programs.
  • Drive a zero-incident maintenance culture.
  • Ensure maintenance activities support food safety and regulatory compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering
  • 8+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience, including 2+ years of maintenance leadership experience.
  • Experience in Food, Beverage, Dairy, Pharmaceutical, Consumer Goods, or Process Manufacturing.
  • CMMS experience.
  • New equipment commissioning experience is strongly preferred.
  • Reliability Engineering background is strongly preferred.
  • TPM implementation, predictive maintenance, and OEM equipment troubleshooting experience are strongly preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs; frequent sitting, occasional, walking, constant visual acuity (near/far)

Compensation:

  • Annual compensation based on skills and experience ranging from $75,000 – $107,813​.
