The Maintenance Reliability Manager is responsible for identifying and managing asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. Position must guide efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, safety and process safety systems. Identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. This broad primary role includes loss elimination, risk management, life cycle asset management, and capital project management.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
• Site wide responsibilities including sawmill, planer mill, dry kilns, site services and mobile equipment, across multiple locations on the East Coast of the US.
• Analyze plant downtime, quality, safety, and financial data to identify areas of focus for the maintenance and operations teams:
• Conduct and coordinate failure investigations, including analyzing failure mechanisms and implementing solutions to improve reliability, quality, safety, and financial performance.
• Redesign machinery and / or processes to improve plant reliability and lower operating costs.
• Lead the implementation of the CMMS platform, ensuring full deployment and optimal utilization of its capabilities. Experience with Rockwell’s Fiix system is preferred.
• Direct supervision of the Reliability Technicians.
• Implement best practices for lubrication, handling, application, and storage of lubricants along with the oil analysis program.
• Direct oversight of the preventative and predictive maintenance programs which include vibration analysis, thermography, infrared, oil analysis, precision alignment and others to improve the mill’s reliability program.
• Responsible for hydraulic and compressor programs
• Works with project and area engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. The reliability engineering manager is responsible for adhering to the life cycle asset management (LCAM) process throughout the entire life cycle of new assets.
• Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls and safety/security systems.
• Provides input to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operations.
• Coordinate and manage services from OEM representatives and other third parties to improve equipment reliability, life cycles, and costs.
• Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance activities where required.
• Identify other opportunities across the site to improve efficiency, lower cost, and reduce waste.

• Provides technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel.
• Applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign and make/buy decisions.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of training and experience
• 8 or more years of relevant maintenance and/or reliability experience in fixed plant equipment
• Proven track record with implementing a world class maintenance program in an organization
• Proven Strong CMMS experience
• Proven understanding of reliability implementation, root cause analysis, PM optimization
• Preference is for candidates to have prior experience in wood products/pulp and paper industry
• Self-directed and motivated
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience in project management
• Knowledge of Mill processes and equipment

Travel:
• Travel up to 25% of the time. Preferably based in Eastern United States.
