To effectively perform all the required duties of the Maintenance Planner / Scheduler position in an accurate, thorough, and safe manner outlined per the Carl Buddig and Company job description.

  • Must be able to perform physical requirements of job as needed (i.e. bending, squatting, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, crouching, standing, sitting, lifting to 100lbs).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Must be proficient in using CMMS software (previous system experience in MQ1 – AX – MVP preferred).
  • Must have knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must be able to work 40 or more hours per week.
  • Must be able to work mandatory overtime if necessary.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
  • Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less when needed.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures as outlined per the Carl Buddig and Company employee handbook.
  • Take responsibility in your work area to produce a safe and quality food product.
  • Maintain a good rapport with all Carl Buddig and Company co-workers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assure CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) accuracy by establishing / maintaining all assets, preventative maintenance schedules, and work order elements.
  • Update CMMS system as required to ensure adequate preventative maintenance.
  • Create work plan (including work orders) for each member of the maintenance staff.
  • Present plan to maintenance, production, and scheduling team for review and feedback.
  • Create and provide KPI reports to maintenance manager.
  • Estimate materials and man hour requirements for all planned work.
  • Validate all materials are available and/or work with purchasing to acquire the required materials.
  • Develop a preliminary workforce weekend schedule by crew ensuring all skills required and resources are met.
  • Dialog with Safety, Production, Scheduling, and Maintenance departments on specific concerns.
  • Follow up with maintenance supervisors and mechanics regarding completion of all planned work. Ensure all documentation has been completed accurately including a list of all parts used.
  • Accurately track metrics on the performance of planning and scheduling functions. Provide reports to maintenance manager.
  • Issue scheduled work orders with job plan to maintenance staff.
  • Finalize the maintenance resource schedule based on agreed plan with scheduling and production.
  • Update CMMS system with failure information on equipment in order to build a history database for future failure reference.
  • Review stock levels of maintenance items and communicate changes to MPS Coordinator.
  • Take responsibility in your work area to produce a safe and quality food product.
  • Report all food safety related problems to your supervisor, manager, or to the quality assurance department in order to initiate immediate action.
  • Assist the MPS Coordinator maintenance related inventory to ensure accuracy.
  • Other duties may be assigned on an as needed basis.



Qualifications



Required Education and/or

Experience:

  • Ability to legally work in the United States is required.
  • Must be flexible and able to work as needed.
  • Must work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less when needed.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
  • Knowledge of maintenance process and effective use of work order system.
  • Technical associate degree is preferred or prior CMMS administration experience.
  • Minimum 5 + years maintenance experience or 2 + years of experience in a maintenance planner/scheduler position.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

Pay range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000 depending on experience.

Benefits for this role include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, FSA, HSA, 401(k) Plan with Company Match, Vacation & PTO, and Tuition Reimbursement. There is also a potential for a discretionary bonus this bonus is based on personal & company performance and is not a guaranteed bonus plan.
