Job Description

This position supports the Maintenance Manager in the daily coordination of activities in the Maintenance department. The Maintenance Planner will assist the Maintenance Manager with ordering supplies, inventory control, project management, scheduling work orders and PM’s, pricing and returns on inventory items, negotiating with vendors, and purchasing non-stock items. The purpose of the Maintenance Planner position is to facilitate communication between the Operations Department and the Maintenance Department, while keeping equipment maintained without slowing down productivity. All maintenance problems must be solved by taking the budget, environment, and safety into consideration.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company’s staff, employees, and vendors.

  • Purchasing parts/supplies.
  • Negotiating with vendors, ensuring MRO compliance.
  • Maintaining parts inventory and keeping parts room updated, including ordering, stocking, pricing and returns.
  • Conduct monthly Rx training updates with Maintenance Technicians in order to support continuous improvement in Rx.
  • Conducting monthly safety training updates with Maintenance Technicians in order to support continuous improvement in Safety.
  • Scheduling online training classes for Maintenance Technicians.
  • Completing tasks on time as outlined in the Reliability Excellence Matrix.
  • Updating metrics and monthly site dashboard.
  • Participating in monthly Business Management Review meeting; and,
  • Writing SMP’s and maintaining ISO related documents and forms.
  • Work orders and PM’s, pricing and returns on inventory items, negotiating with vendors, and purchasing non-stock items.
  • Working with operations on Rx goals, entering them into eAM / Maintenance Connection in order to track progress and ensure timely completion of site inspections.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have at least one (1) year of work experience in maintenance
  • Must have at least one (1) year of experience in troubleshooting equipment breakdowns
  • Must have at least one (1) year of experience working in the Computer Maintenance Management System to manage maintenance work.
  • Must have certifications with all DSC equipment
  • Must have at least five (5) years' work experience cross functionally trained in the maintenance department

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have at least a bachelor's degree or higher
  • Have at least three (3) year of work experience in maintenance
  • Have a Millwright License or Certification
  • Have a Pipefitter License or Certification
