Job Description

About the role:

As a Maintenance Planning Supervisor, you play a key role in driving maintenance efficiency by defining when and who executes maintenance activities within the Barry Callebaut Operating System (BCOS).
You ensure optimal resource allocation, efficient scheduling and minimal disruption to production. Acting as the link between maintenance, planning and production teams, you guarantee that maintenance plans are realistic, well‑coordinated and aligned with operational priorities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage daily, weekly and monthly maintenance schedules to ensure efficient use of resources and minimal production impact.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities by assigning the right people at the right time based on availability and skillset.
  • Align maintenance plans with production schedules to reduce downtime and support operational continuity.
  • Adapt planning in case of emergencies, production changes or unexpected events while maintaining efficiency
  • Ensure preventive maintenance tasks are executed in line with standards and timelines.
  • Monitor availability of equipment, spare parts, workforce and tools to guarantee execution of planned work.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all maintenance activities in the CMMS system.
  • Support smooth handover of equipment back to production after maintenance interventions.
  • Analyze planning data and KPIs to drive continuous improvement and increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with technical and maintenance teams to ensure compliance with safety, environmental and food safety standards.
  • Ensure strict adherence to GMP and hygiene standards by both internal teams and external contractors.
  • Prioritize maintenance actions based on preventive maintenance outcomes and operational needs.

About you

  • Technical degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance coordination or industrial maintenance environments.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance planning, resource allocation and scheduling principles.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across production, planning and technical teams.
  • Fluent in Dutch and French, intermediate English.
  • Flexible and able to adapt quickly to changes in a dynamic production environment

  • Strong problem‑solver with analytical thinking.

  • Hands‑on, proactive and results‑oriented.

  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing shifting priorities.

  • Able to balance production needs with maintenance efficiency.
