Location: Rockport, IN
Cleveland-Cliffs, Rockport Works is looking for a Maintenance Planner and Shift Manager in our Pickling Department. This frontline leadership role is responsible for providing daily and/or downturn first-line supervision and direction to hourly skilled-trades workers through the successful assignment and completion of maintenance duties.
of Responsibilities:
Maintains records of planned and completed maintenance activities related to TS16949 standards
Prepare outage-related reports as assigned. (Pre-outage Cost, Outage Critic, etc.)
Utilizes Computerized Maintenance Management System database and Gantt Charts to manage maintenance activity
Evaluate requests for maintenance services for validity, parts, priority, procedures, skills needed, and date of completion. Communicate with service providers, vendors, engineering, maintenance and operations personnel-both written and verbally
Obtain costs estimates for personnel, parts, and supplies to be used during scheduled or unplanned maintenance events
Enter requisitions in the Oracle system for service or supplies
Direct and oversee troubleshooting and maintenance actions as assigned on production machinery and facilities
Develop and coordinate with Day Manager daily work assignments based on determined operational and maintenance priorities
Develops, maintains and implements maintenance, quality and safety procedures, as directed by Section Manager
Manage assigned backlogs to maintain established completion compliance of maintenance program
Monitors delays, break-ins, and production turn reports, and assigns or develops maintenance practices to address line conditions or equipment issues
Coordinates with Engineering to develop plans for reconstruction or installation of new equipment, machinery, or buildings
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Commitment to enforcing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with environmental and quality standards
Strong organization skills
Proficient computer skills, including database entry, Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint
Proven electrical or mechanical knowledge and basic related work experience
Strong negotiation, interpersonal and communications skills
Flexibility to work extended hours, nights, and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related Technical field or combination of education / experience
Journeyman rating or licensure in function overseen
