As a Maintenance Planner you will p rovide job plans for daily maintenance activities and expense projects, prepares job packages, and provide planning assistance for emergency shutdowns.

  • Provide job plans for daily maintenance activities, prepares job packages for expense projects and provide planning assistance for emergency shutdowns.
  • Receive and review work orders that have been authorized by the users of Maintenance services.
  • Prepare a work scope and establish the labor, tools, material, and equipment required for work orders.
  • Estimate, plan, and requisition manpower, materials, and equipment for approved work orders.
  • Prepare/supply drawings, sketches, bid packages, specifications, procedures, etc. that will aid the Maintenance Supervisor for all planned jobs.
  • Maintain the records essential to the effective operation of the planning and scheduling areas of responsibility.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of the planned work with Maintenance supervision, Operations, Safety and the Purchasing Department to achieve maximum efficiency and cost management in a proactive manner.
  • Accumulate costs for reporting purposes on specific jobs.
  • Assist in monitoring the productivity of contractors performing work in the refinery.
  • Be proficient and available to cover for Maintenance Supervisors when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero McKee Refinery, required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years of planning and/or maintenance experience in refining or a related industry required.
  • Experience reading engineering drawings, such as plot plans, piping isometrics, and P&IDs required.
  • Experience using computer-based planning and scheduling tools required.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or higher level degree in a related field preferred.
  • Planning experience in refinery maintenance strongly preferred.
  • Drafting experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
