The Industrial Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and plant productivity. This role works closely with operations, maintenance supervisor, tradespeople, and contractors to ensure maintenance work is executed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to production.
What You’ll do:
Develop and maintain weekly and long-range maintenance schedules.
Create detailed work orders including labor requirements, parts, tools, permits, and safety procedures.
Coordinate planned shutdowns, outages, and major maintenance projects.
Review maintenance requests and prioritize work based on safety, reliability, and operational requirements.
Maintain and optimize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Ensure required parts and materials are identified, ordered, and available before scheduled work begins.
Analyze equipment history and maintenance data to identify reliability improvement opportunities.
Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Monitor maintenance backlog and develop plans to reduce overdue work.
Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities that minimize downtime.
Assist with budget planning and contractor coordination.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and cost reduction.
What you’ll need:
Technical diploma, trade certification, or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline.
Experience in maintenance planning, maintenance supervision, or industrial maintenance preferred
Experience in a manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment preferred.
Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices preferred.
Experience using JD Edwards, or similar systems, considered an asset.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
