Maintenance Planner

At Shaw Industries, we're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Planner to help drive equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and operational excellence at our Dalton, GA facility.

In this role, you'll serve as a key partner between Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Reliability teams, ensuring maintenance work is properly planned, scheduled, and executed. You'll also act as the site expert and administrator for our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), helping maintain accurate asset data, optimize preventive maintenance programs, and improve overall plant performance.

What You'll Do

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop detailed maintenance job plans that support safe, efficient, and timely execution of work.
  • Identify, prioritize, and schedule maintenance activities to maximize workforce productivity and equipment uptime.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to ensure work is aligned with business priorities.
  • Ensure required materials, tools, and resources are available and staged before work begins.
  • Lead weekly work order prioritization and scheduling meetings.
  • Monitor work order progress and facilitate timely completion and closeout.

Reliability & CMMS Administration

  • Serve as the site owner and administrator for the CMMS platform.
  • Maintain asset information, preventive maintenance programs, calibrations, environmental requirements, and automated work orders.
  • Analyze maintenance data and reliability metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with reliability teams across the organization to standardize job plans, preventive maintenance strategies, and best practices.
  • Support plant reliability initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with Plant Engineering, Operations, Reliability, and Environmental teams to support plant objectives.
  • Provide CMMS training and support to site users.
  • Maintain and report plant reliability performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, equipment performance, and system effectiveness.
  • Support Lean Six Sigma, Safety, Sustainability, and Reliability initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in a maintenance, reliability, planning, or industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, equipment, and maintenance practices.
  • Experience using CMMS software and understanding its role in a reliability-centered maintenance program.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and communicate key metrics to stakeholders.
  • Experience with purchasing, inventory, or maintenance-related materials management.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical documents.
  • Willingness to complete required CMMS training.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a maintenance planner, scheduler, mechanic, electrician, or reliability professional.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment that may include heat, humidity, automated equipment, and production activity.
  • Frequent movement throughout the facility, including inspections and equipment evaluations.
  • Ability to travel between facilities as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups across all levels of the organization.
