Scope

We have an exciting opportunity within or Maintenance Team for a forward thinking highly motivated individual as a Maintenance Planner, to join our team based at Bromborough.

Role Purpose

Reporting into the Factory Engineering Manager this roles key objective includes continuously improving and developing our long-term maintenance strategy, increasing asset reliability and reducing breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities will include

  • Manage planned maintenance for existing assets. Execute the weekly maintenance planning routine, including task prioritisation, collaboration with production and scheduling to agree downtime, ensuring spare parts availability, creation and communication of a weekly plan and working with the engineering team to ensure all planned work is completed to the correct standard.
  • Support in safety and quality issue resolution
  • Review, create and optimise maintenance plans using our CMMS (SAP PM) to improve the quality and effectiveness of our scheduled maintenance.
  • Optimise the maintenance planning strategy, ensuring engineering and hygiene compliance, to allow efficient planning and completion of routine tasks.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of all relevant technical documentation.
  • Ensure all technicians are trained and competent in the use of SAP PM, provide refresher training as required, audit and provide feedback on SAP PM usage and ensure a high quality of data is maintained.
  • Coordinate 3rd party maintenance service providers, ensuring high quality of service and safe completion of all scheduled work.
  • Budget management: Provide supporting data for maintenance budget planning and tracking. Establish and deploy reports to facilitate review of maintenance indicators.
  • Coordinate with the Technical Stores for the creation of spare parts documentation, procurement of parts and services required for maintenance and spare parts priority classification.
  • Ensure all non-stock parts required are ordered on time and orders are compliant with Nestle processes.
  • Participate in and positively contribute to site initiatives as requested to include HACCP, ISO9002, CDM, Management of Change etc.

  • Experienced in a maintenance role in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (preferably food)
  • A vision to build a plan, and the resilience to see it through to completion
  • Passion for Engineering solutions
  • Enthusiasm for Engineering maintenance
  • Wants to progress the role with their own insights and ideas
  • Highly motivated
  • Experienced SAP PM User
  • Familiar with Microsoft Share Point
  • Familiar with Power BI (or equivalent) – compliance monitoring system
  • Engineering background (academic or otherwise), electrical or mechanical
  • Educated to NVQ level 2 or higher

Working Conditions

This role operates in a food manufacturing environment with regular time on the factory floor and exposure to noise, dust (grain), moving machinery, temperature variation, and manual handling activities. Flexibility is required to support shift teams, critical incidents, shutdowns, trials, and business needs.
