The Maintenance Planner is responsible for ensuring effective, compliant, and efficient maintenance planning and scheduling to support equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted production.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and manage planned and preventive maintenance (PM) schedules.

  • Prioritize work orders based on criticality, risk, and production impact.

  • Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and production disruption.

  • Ensure all work is properly planned with materials, labor, and documentation ready.

  • Work/Interact with Production Planning and Manufacturing

2. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GMP, FDA, and BD Quality System standards.

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and audit‑ready documentation (work orders, logs, records).

  • Confirm that maintenance is executed following approved SOPs and change control processes.

  • Support audits and inspections by demonstrating strong maintenance control and traceability.

3. Asset Reliability & Performance

  • Drive equipment reliability strategies (PM, predictive maintenance, condition monitoring).

  • Analyze equipment history, failures, and trends to prevent recurrence.

  • Partner with Engineering to improve asset performance and lifecycle management.

4. Cross‑Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, EHS, and Supply Chain.

  • Align maintenance plans with production schedules and quality requirements.

  • Support deviations, CAPAs, and change management activities.

5. Spare Parts & Resource Management

  • Ensure availability of critical spare parts and materials.

  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to optimize inventory levels and avoid delays.

  • Effectively allocate maintenance technicians and external resources.

6. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance efficiency, uptime, and compliance.

  • Support Lean initiatives and BD Excellence practices.

  • Drive improvements in planning accuracy, scheduling adherence, and execution discipline.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical engineering, Mechatronic or related field

  • 3+ years of experience in Maintenance within an automated manufacturing environment

  • Fully bilingual English/Spanish

  • Lean manufacturing/Six Sigma tools knowledge preferred

  • Analytical

  • TPM experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of RCA/RPS
