The Maintenance Planner leads a team that is responsible for planning, documenting, and implementing preventative, predictive and project maintenance for plant equipment and facilities. This role must define, track, monitor, and estimate required work request hours, part and supply costs, and maintain a consistent tracking system. Duties of this role will include partnering with cross-functional technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish and implement a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime windows.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrate leadership by championing Lozier’s Mission, Vision, and Values and living the Lozier Leadership Model.
  • Responsible for leading the team that will monitor part inventory, acquire necessary parts and tools, clean and repair operational equipment, and resolve and track maintenance work orders.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for the assigned plant maintenance management system and is responsible for planning and implementing regular repair projects in the most effective and least disruptive timeframes as possible.
  • Continuously monitors, tests, and documents repair work, making adjustments to repair windows or timeframes as needed.
  • Track and approve purchases in accordance with the company and departmental purchasing policies.
  • Prepare and provide detailed job plans for preventative, predictive and project maintenance activities that comply with fundamental plant maintenance procedures and practices.
  • Engage in continuous improvement planning to enhance equipment and machine efficiency.
  • Independently solve potentially complex maintenance issues with minimal supervision, partnering with cross-functional teams like engineering, quality, etc. as needed.
  • Lead efforts to appropriately plan and implement maintenance activities during a time that will maximize efficiency and minimize down time.
  • Address maintenance activities in a way that is mindful of safety, quality, cost and operational impact.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:Minimum of an Associate degree or two-year certification in a related technical field or equivalent experience required. A Bachelor degree in a technical field preferred.

Experience:Minimum of 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience is required, if degreed. Minimum of 7 years of relevant manufacturing experience is required, if non-degreed. Previous experience as a lead or supervisor is preferred.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance, tool and die within a manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance systems and procedures.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge including troubleshooting and programmable controller knowledge.
  • Previous experience with project planning.
  • Intermediate PC and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Advanced problem solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools like lean or six sigma.
  • Previous experience with computerized maintenance management systems such as SAP, Oracle, Maximio, etc.

SPECIAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to navigate throughout a manufacturing facility or warehouse 75% of the day.
  • May be required to flex on assigned shift as needed.
