Job Shift: 1st ShiftPosition Overview:In order to fulfill these responsibilities in the most effective manner, the MPS is empowered to manage work priority, develop job plans, define parts and material, define crafts and skills and engage the proper resources to develop a safe, effective and efficient work control plan.  In addition, the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler provides equipment-related expertise and technical guidance on improving Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:•    Principal contact and liaison between the maintenance department and operations planning. Ensures that the area, department, or facility in which PM work is assigned receives professional maintenance service in a timely manner.
•    Gather information for and prepare Preventative Maintenance tasks (PM’s).
•    Identifies, analyses, and reviews equipment maintenance problems and meantime to failure with maintenance engineer.
•    Review all planned work requests from assigned areas, determine the validity and accuracy of information, and engage the appropriate resources to set a priority.
•    Reviews work request for accuracy and clarity: clear scope of work, realistic completion date, proper lead times, correct equipment identification, proper charge number (if applicable), proper authorization, and discuss details of the work order.
•    Review the work to be performed and determine the best way to accomplish the work. Consult with Leads, Supervisors, Originator, Production Supervisors, Production Planner/Scheduler and Stores, as necessary.
•    Obtain and organize all information required for the mechanics to perform the work: drawings, vendor manual, supplemental instructional materials, special procedures, and other file material which is appropriate. Verifies that all material, information, tools, and labor are available prior to scheduling.
•    Identifies and secures all parts and material required to complete the work by providing stores a Bill of Material for the work order and any special kitting instructions.
•    Work with Stores to manage spare part usage to maximize turns but minimize risk of using critical spares.
•    Determine and identify any vendor/contractor provided service for the work order. (i.e., contract vibration service, mechanical/electrical contractors, HVAC technicians). Show vendors/contractors the location and explain the scope of work to obtain quotes.
•    Provide a total cost estimate for the work to be performed: labor, material, and outside services.
•    Manage the status of work control and backlog for work order submission to work order completion. Status may include waiting for planning, waiting parts, ready to schedule, scheduled, etc.
•    Works with Maintenance leads, supervisors, and planners to determine resource availability and work to level the work force.
•    Develops a preliminary workforce schedule by crew ensuring all skills requirement and resource availability is met.
•    Actively participate in scheduling meetings with operation partners to finalize the priority of work orders, optimum downtime windows, and necessary lead times.
•    Follow up and communicate schedule to all resources: maintenance, production, outside services, stores, and engineering.
•    Manage a backlog of work orders which require major or sizable portion of the facility to be shutdown.
•    Continuously improves the job estimate, planning and scheduling by receiving feedback from maintenance supervisors, maintenance leads, production supervisors, engineers, and production planners.
•    Keep accurate metrics on the performance of planning and scheduling functions and provide timely reports to the maintenance manager.
•    Maintain and continually update Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) records for the facility to provide accurate time and cost detail by asset, department, and mechanic.

QualificationsEducation and

Experience:
Must be 18yrs of age to work for Monogram Foods
•     5 or more years of manufacturing maintenance, purchasing, inventory, or related experience required.
•    3 or more years of experience with computerized maintenance management programs.
•    Mechanical/electrical background is necessary. An apprenticeship program or technical school background is desirable.
•    Have adequate craft knowledge and skill to accurately estimate labor hours, material requirements, and skills needed to complete a job. Must have a demonstrated ability to visualize and communicate the execution of work.
•    Solid organizational and planning skills.
•    Demonstrated ability to write and provide simple and accurate instructions.
•    Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, and machine and process drawings. Has the ability to sketch or redline existing drawings.
•    Knowledge and understanding of the maintenance processes and proper use of the work order system, planning and scheduling, and storeroom processes.
•    Can manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion.
•    Must have a reputation that is respected by production, maintenance labor, maintenance management, and store personnel
Competencies and Skills:
•    Understanding equipment, systems, and their lifecycles is critical for effective planning and optimization.
•    How to schedule and execute preventive and predictive strategies to minimize unplanned downtime.
•    The ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and make informed decisions to improve equipment reliability.
•    Coordinating with technicians, engineers, and other stakeholders requires clear and concise communication.
•    Prioritizing tasks and ensuring deadlines are met, especially when handling multiple maintenance activities.
Physical Demands:
•    Frequently walks and stands, often splitting time between a desk and the production floor
•    Frequently bends, stoops, squats, kneels, and crawls to inspect equipment, often in tight or cramped spaces.
•    Frequently lifts or moves items ranging from 20 to over 40 pounds, with some roles requiring handling up to 50–80 lbs.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:
Works in both an office and production setting .
Will be required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment.
May be exposed to extreme temperatures, potentially hazardous chemicals, and vibration.
May be required to work near moving mechanical parts.
Must be capable of wearing required safety gear, including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection.
