Your role at St John of God Burwood

We are seeking applications for a Permanent Full-Time Maintenance Officer (Trade) to join our Facility Management team based at St John of God Burwood Hospital.

Working Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 3:36pm (7.6-hour shifts), this role offers excellent work-life balance with no weekend or public holiday work required.

You will perform maintenance and repair work across the hospital, proactively addressing issues and contributing to a safe, welcoming environment for all.

The Position

  • Assist with the scheduled Preventative Maintenance Programs for buildings and equipment

  • Assist and ensure all maintenance equipment is used and maintained in a serviceable condition and appropriate service and checking documentation is completed

  • Respond to requests for minor maintenance from patients and staff and maintain a register of maintenance work completed

  • Carry out painting projects as required, ensuring that all offices and communal areas are maintained to a high level of presentation.

  • Assist with the collection, removal and setup of furniture and equipment for training purposes and functions etc.

  • Take appropriate maintenance action following reports of safety hazards, risks and incidents/accidents within the workplace.

  • Assist in general repairs to the facility building services and equipment including painting

  • Assist in minor projects The ideal candidate will possess clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, along with well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.

You will hold relevant trade qualifications and have the ability to work autonomously, effectively prioritising tasks and taking ownership of your work.

Successful candidates will demonstrate highly developed interpersonal skills, the ability to support people experiencing distress, and a commitment to maintaining professional boundaries. A current Class C Driver's Licence and Elevated Work Platform Licence are desirable.

We can offer you

  • Salary: $67,438 (pro rata for part time) plus 12% Superannuation

  • Permanent full-time, working 38 hours per week
