At RACV, we're proud to provide memorable stays and experiences for our members and guests. We're looking for a hands-on and proactive Maintenance Officer to help keep our resort operating at its best while ensuring our facilities remain safe, functional and welcoming for all who visit.

This position operates on a roster of four days per week, Sunday to Wednesday, from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

Located in the stunning coastal setting of Cape Schanck on the Mornington Peninsula, this is an opportunity to enjoy a varied role where no two days are the same, all while being part of a supportive team at one of Victoria's leading resort destinations.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll play an important role in maintaining the resort's buildings, infrastructure, plant and equipment to the highest standards. You'll work across a variety of maintenance tasks, helping to ensure an exceptional experience for our members, guests and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing general repairs and maintenance across resort facilities
  • Proactively identifying and resolving maintenance issues
  • Assisting with preventative maintenance programs for buildings, plant and equipment
  • Maintaining property presentation and ensuring work areas meet safety standards
  • Working collaboratively with operational departments to support resort operations
  • Coordinating and supervising contractors when required
  • Supporting workplace health, safety and environmental initiatives
  • Assisting with continuous improvement activities and maintenance projects

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in delivering quality outcomes and has a strong focus on customer service.

You'll have:

  • Previous experience in building or property maintenance
  • Broad handyman skills across areas such as carpentry, painting, plumbing or general repairs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive approach with strong attention to detail
  • A commitment to workplace safety and best practice maintenance standards
  • A current driver's licence

Highly regarded:

  • Trade qualifications in Electrical, Carpentry, Plumbing, Mechanical, Refrigeration or Gas
  • Experience in hotel, resort or hospitality environments
  • Knowledge of building management systems, HVAC or aquatic facilities
