TITLE: Mechanical Technician A

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Mechanical Technician worker is responsible for performing diversified duties with regard to repairing, installing, troubleshooting & maintaining production and facility equipment according to established Company & OSHA safety requirements. These duties will include but not be limited to performing manual labor, operating a variety of light and heavy-duty equipment, performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic & hydraulic repairs of packaging and production machines. The Mechanical Technician worker is tasked with performing their assigned responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner, assisting with the workflow of the department, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum of 1-2years of related experience in the mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic fields is required and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas.
• Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced, high demand-manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel, whether individually or in a team environment.
• Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
• Ability and experience in operating standard & electric pallet jacks, standard fork lift trucks and stand-up forklift trucks.
• Requires the ability to perform basic arithmetic functions consistently and accurately.
• Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
• Must be flexible with work hours.
• Manual Mills, Lathes and welding experience a plus.
• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals, blueprints and work orders to perform required maintenance & service.
• Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes adjustments.
• Performs regular preventive maintenance on machines and other equipment within the facility.
• Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed.
• Assists maintenance and other manufacturing personnel with technical troubleshooting.
• Adheres to, complies with and assists with the enforcement of Company safety policies and procedures
• Performs all other duties and projects as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
• While performing the duties of this job, the Mechanical Technician worker is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel material. This position requires the ability to see/hear warning alarms; also requires walking, standing, stooping, bending and twisting, and kneeling.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme heat and high noise levels. Working on open air secured floor is also required.
