The Level II Millwright is a skilled technician capable of performing complex mechanical repairs, troubleshooting production equipment and supporting continuous improvement efforts. This role requires strong technical ability and a solid understanding of steel pipe manufacturing processes.

Your Day-to-Day Impact

You’ll play a vital role in our Maintenance team by:

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Perform precision alignment of motors, rolls, gearboxes and rotating equipment
  • Rebuild pumps, gearboxes, cylinders and other mechanical assemblies
  • Lead equipment installations, upgrades or major rebuilds
  • Collaborate with operations to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability
  • Train and mentor Entry Level and level I millwrights on technical tasks
  • Assist with root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for making rounds in their areas of responsibilities and completing necessary documentation daily.
  • Responsible for Mechanical delays in your area of responsibility
  • Responsible for Mechanical equipment repairs throughout the mill
  • Responsible for reducing maintenance costs in your area of responsibility
  • Responsible for scanning out all repair parts used from capital spares and store’s inventory during their shift.
  • Responsible for participating in improvement Maintenance activities (CIT, MADE, RCA, and CAPEX)
  • Responsible for work effectiveness regarding wrench time, required competencies, overtime, etc.

What You Bring

We’re looking for candidates who are sharp, safety-focused, and ready to roll up their sleeves:

  • High School diploma or equivalent a must
  • Certified in welding, equivalent training desired
  • 5-7 years of prior experience in Manufacturing or in a heavy industrial equipment environment
  • Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Ability to read complex drawing, schematics and hydraulic diagrams
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical drive systems
  • Mechanical comprehension
  • Ability to work on overhead cranes in extreme heights and environmental conditions
  • Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment (heat, noise, heights, confined spaces)
  • General knowledge of AC and/or DC overhead cranes
  • General knowledge of safe rigging practices and procedures
  • Ability to carry heavy tools and parts up several flights of stairs
  • Ability to fabricate and weld steel structures
  • General knowledge of large industrial pumps
  • General knowledge of industrial air compressor systems
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, and team player
