ABOUT THE ROLE

The Mechanical Fitter position plays a vital role in the operations and maintenance of our chemical manufacturing plant. The role is responsible for maintaining the operations of the plant to ensure maximum production rates and minimal downtime. The position requires a motivated and detail-oriented individual who can work within a collaborative and friendly team environment to ensure smooth and efficient operational processes and procedures while adhering to stringent quality and safety standards as part of the daily routine.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work collaboratively with the Plant Manager to perform maintenance work around the plant.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance works according to the schedule.
  • Installation and fabrication of equipment on new plant when required.
  • Undertake maintenance duties as they arise.
  • Weekly reporting to Plant Manager on outstanding maintenance matters.
  • Any reasonable work within your capabilities and skills as directed by your Manager/Supervisor.

IDEALLY, YOU WILL BRING

  • Demonstrated physical agility and fitness to carry out tasks.
  • Previous experience in a chemical plant or manufacturing environment (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Full working rights to work in Australia.
  • Forlift and HC truck Licence (preferred by not essential).
