Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support operations at a recycling facility. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and industrial machinery to ensure safe and efficient production. Ideal candidates will have experience working with hydraulic systems, conveyors, balers, shredders, and heavy mobile equipment in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on recycling facility equipment, including conveyors, balers, shredders, and heavy mobile machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintain and service Sennebogen and Caterpillar material handlers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) and assist with installation of new equipment.
  • Conduct repairs involving hydraulics, electrical components, mechanical systems, and basic fabrication.
  • Inspect equipment and identify parts needed for repair or replacement.
  • Use computer systems to research parts, manuals, and equipment documentation.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
  • Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines while promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Work in various physical positions such as kneeling, bending, climbing, and operating lifts.
  • Provide and receive constructive feedback as part of a collaborative maintenance team.
  • Be available to work different shifts or overtime when needed.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, heavy equipment repair, or a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience working with industrial equipment such as conveyors, shredders, balers, or heavy mobile machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Must provide basic hand tools required for the role.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
