Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Can exercise options to proceed with suitable training to acquire knowledge and skill in other specialized areas of plant Maintenance work, and to improve his areas of basic qualifications, subject to company approval.

Through practical experience and specific training continually improves his knowledge and skills in the reading and interpreting of mechanical and electrical drawings, and electronic drawings.

Qualified and capable for performing all necessary Maintenance work in each of the following areas: Electrical, Millwright, Pipefitting and Welding, and in operating all machines and hand tools in the Maintenance shop area and in the field.

Qualified to perform Maintenance work in either advanced electrical, advanced mechanical, or advanced

Assists other maintenance and/ or production personnel in maintaining a high level of production in the most safe and efficient methods possible. Assignments can place the GMM in any department or area of the plant and on many occasions, may require considerable physical efforts.

Must of throughout knowledge of the fire alarm codes and locations, the location and proper use of firefighting equipment, and the ability to react promptly in incipient stage fires which can be controlled or extinguished by portable fire extinguishers. Class II standpoint or small hose systems.

Performs a variety of related duties including, but not limited to, filling out reports, keeping accurate logs, requisition materials, and accounting for materials, supplies, and time spent on specific assignments.

Maintenance employees must be able to complete specified training through job experience and the completion of prescribed schooling in order to progress through the blocks of the General Maintenance Mechanic training program.

Maintains good housekeeping and performs job in a safe manner by adhering to all safety and housekeeping policies.

What We Need From You:

Education / Experience:

High School degree required.

Two (2) years of previous full-time General Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required; Three to five (3-5) years of experience preferred.

Qualifications and Skills:

Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.

Must be able to safely operate a fork truck and maintain the required license.

Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and self-management skills.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Must be computer proficient and able to navigate efficiently through various software programs and MS Office, including Microsoft Outlook

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, SAFETY and WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to wear a respirator and work in confined spaces.

Perform duties within normal industrial environmental conditions and outside and may encounter extreme heat, cold, wet, or dangerous weather conditions.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Must be able to push/pull, grip to use hand tools, reach, see, hear, and speak.

Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

Associate must follow posted security procedures at all times while in the building.

Must follow all PPE requirements.
