Maintenance Mechanic

Virbac Animal Health is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our Maintenance Team located in Bridgeton, MO. The Maintenance Mechanic assists with maintaining, repairing and performing preventative maintenance on various types of:

  • Packaging Equipment

  • Mixing Equipment

  • Compression Equipment

  • Building Systems

Qualified Candidates must possess the following:

  • Ability to work Independently

  • Previous Maintenance experience

  • Experience in Pharmaceutical or Bio-Pharmaceutical equipment

Pay Range (Depending on Experience): $35.46 - $49.81

Area of responsibility 1: [Production Machinery].
Main activities

1. Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine shutdowns.
2. Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
3. Performs mechanic level skills including, but not limited to; mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting, repair of Pharmaceutical packaging and production line machines.

  • Electrical skills include: AC/DC theory and analysis, Power Distribution, Motor and Machine control circuits, and familiarity with PLC’s.
  • Mechanical skills include: Pump and gearbox repair, Millwright practices, Sheetmeal work, Pipefitting, and Welding.

4. The ability to read, interpret equipment manuals and work orders to insure correct maintenance repairs and equipment service is completed.

Expected results: Ensure reliable and safe operation of machinery and equipment.


Area of responsibility 2: [Preventive Maintenance]
Main activities

1. Detailed equipment inspections based on preventative maintenance procedures.
2. Legible record keeping procedures.
3. Ability to use electrical and calibration testing equipment.
Expected results: Limited downtime of equipment and production machinery.


Area of responsibility 3: [Facilities and facility related equipment].
Main activities

1. Repairs, modifies, constructs, fabricates, installs and maintains building structures and equipment.
2. Working knowledge of building codes.
3. Understanding of facility equipment, boilers, chillers, air handling systems etc.

Expected results: Limit downtime of infrastructure equipment.

1. Participate in Kaizen events.
2. Support 5 S projects.
Expected results: Create a sustainability culture.

Main activities

1. Participate in safety related groups.
2. The ability to identify possible safety hazards.

Profile
Requirements (Diploma and experience)
1. High School diploma, trade school or college preferred.
2. Total number of years' experience required to fulfil the role: 3 years


Skills
1. Previous maintenance experience. Pharmaceutical or Bio-Pharmaceutical manufacturing or research equipment experience.
