Abacus is looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic in Memphis, TN.

Maintenance mechanic is responsible for ensuring that machinery and equipment operate efficiently and safely, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and repairing mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal functioning.

• Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose mechanical problems and repair or replace faulty parts quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.

• Documentation: Maintain records of maintenance and repair activities, documenting any issues and solutions implemented.

• Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe working environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required; vocational training or an Associate’s degree in industrial maintenance is preferred.

• Experience: Proven work experience as a maintenance mechanic or in a similar role is often necessary, with 2+ years being common in many job postings.

• Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics, and familiarity with hand and power tools.
